Our Learning
Here is an example timeline of activities we complete in Year 6:

Our expectations of learning behaviours in Year 6 are:
To persevere by believing in themselves, listening and responding positively to feedback.
To show willingness to have a go, try their best and seek solutions.
To show respect by valuing themselves, others and the whole school community.
To be motivated and engaged by staying focused, actively participating in lessons and showing a positive attitude to learning.
To take responsibility by being organised and equipped each day. To problem-solve and know when to ask for help.
To aim high and be proud of their achievement by reflecting and evaluating their own work. By setting themselves targets and knowing what they need to do to make even greater progress.
Our expectations of home learning in Year 6 are:
To read at least four times a week.
To practise spelling at least four times a week in pupil's spelling books or on Spelling Shed.
To practise times tables on Times Table Rockstars regularly each week.
To complete activities on IXL or using the weekly homework sheet to revise a core skill they have learnt in reading, maths or writing.
To complete a creative homework task based on a topic at least once a half-term.
Each half term, pupils receive a new homework menu that summarises the expectations of homework and a list of creative tasks to choose from. The homework menu can be found as an attachment at the bottom of this page.
